Abstract
This comprehensive study uses mixed methods research. The study reveals how each of the “participants” in group health insurance arrangements interpret the term “faith and diligence” and how they perceive an employer’s responsibility toward their employees. The study describes a policyholder’s actions towards employees throughout the period of a group insurance arrangement, examines how insurance companies and policyholders perceive a policyholder’s actions towards the employees, and examines the association between those employer’s actions and employees’ perception of an employer’s responsibility towards them. The innovation of current study is that it creates a guide for employers as to how they should act in order to fulfil their managerial, ethical and legal responsibilities towards their employees regarding group health insurance.
